Elegant Foyer with Sparkling ChandelierHere I will start with my favorite lighting option - the sparkling chandeliers! If you are one of those lucky people who have a high, wide and large foyer, add a beautiful chandelier, right in the middle of the roof. Choose from crystal, metallic or wrought iron chandelier, depending upon the rest of your home dcor. Add a few decorative table lamps to the foyer too, as they will fill out the large space and make it look beautiful. On the other hand, for those of you who have a small foyer in their house, recessed lighting and wall sconces are a good option. The best thing about recessed lighting is that it illuminates the space without giving the impression of consuming or occupying it. That's why, a small foyer seems a bit wide if recessed lighting is used in it.
A chandelier not only lights up the room, but it gives the place that much-needed grandeur, class, and elegance. In the past, this light fixture lit up the rooms of French aristocrats and rich people's palatial homes. However, these days, it is becoming a common sight even at the homes of ordinary citizens.
One thing that you need to look at when inspecting the quality of your chandelier is the chandeliers finish. Check if your chandeliers finish is durable and smooth. Lesser quality chandeliers will have cracks, bubbles or scratches on the surface of its finish. Your chandelier should not have any of those in the surface of its finish, so make sure that you check for those before you decide to purchase a chandelier to ensure of its good quality. It is important to know that chandelier finishes are also designed to resist tarnishing, corrosion and flaking, increasing the chandeliers durability. So if your chandelier is easily corroded, flaked or tarnished, then it needs to be checked again for its quality.
Buying a quality brand name chandelier you are guaranteed it will last for many years as the materials used and craftsmanship involved are always of the highest quality. Some brand names to look out for are Tiffany, famous for their leaded coloured glass designs; Murano who still incorporate techniques from centuries ago; Schonbek, crystal chandelier designers for generations; Minka Lavery with their inspiring range of lighting products; and Kichler for their dazzling chandelettes.
