Afro Celotto gained the title of "First master" glass-maker at the "La Murrina" international glass factory located on the Island of Murano. There he devoted his time to mastering 2 of the oldest Venetian glass blowing techniques known as FILIGRANA and MURRINA.
Chandeliers are a set of decorative lights put together on one stand, and hung from the center of the ceiling to light the entire room. They were first made by glass makers of Bohemia in the early 16th century, with rock crystals and quartz. This lighting style was found either in medieval churches, monasteries, or in the houses of wealthy people in those times, but today, it is an integral part of home lighting. There are many exquisite designs in which these come, and you can match them with your home's interior. It is quite simple to install one on your own; all you need to do is to make sure that you do it in a proper way.
The first thing to do when deciding on the lighting for the foyer is to look at its size. Is it wide or is it narrow? Is it single story or double? A double story, large foyer will any day need more lighting than a single story one. The second very important thing that you should consider is the paint color on the walls of the foyer. Usually, the paint color on the walls of the foyer is in accordance with the adjoining rooms, however, if you are planning to repaint the walls, go for lighter shades as they give the illusion of a much wider and larger space. If you already have a wide foyer, you can definitely go in for some interesting, darker paint colors.
If your chandelier has been handed down from your ancestors or has been hanging in the same room of your century-old ancestral home, consider yourself lucky to have such an original and authentic piece. Check old photos and see if there are any shots of your old chandelier. It is very likely that youll find at least one picture that shows your grandparents with the chandelier in the background. These will verify how old it truly is.
