When you sit and decide what you would like to use as part of your low ceiling plans, make sure you have an outline on how each room would benefit from these additions, instead of overdoing it unnecessarily. It doesn't matter how small the space is, it is how you use the additions to complement it in the right way. A small compact apartment or large one with adequate living room space and a medium to spacious kitchen and dining room, is a great way to start. Small apartments should include minimalistic additions, since it shouldn't overcrowd your overhead space to a point where it looks over the top.
Keep in mind that the chandelier usually draws the immediate attention of a visitor so it should fit the basic dcor of your home. Proper sizing is critical. A chandelier that is too large for the space it occupies will overpower the room and may even lend a sense of claustrophobia to the visitor. On the other hand, a chandelier that is too small for the room just looks out of place regardless of its style.
Before you undertake this task, understand that you cannot do it alone. You need other people to help you with this. Also, make sure that you have enough time on your hands because you cannot dismantle, clean, and pack the chandelier in a jiffy. Plan out the process. Instruct each person about what they are expected to do. For instance, give one person the responsibility of ensuring that the power is off when you remove the chandelier from the ceiling. You would definitely need another person to help you with removing it. Assign this particular task of who holds which part of the chandelier, and how to step down the ladder while carrying it safely. Unplanned activities lead to chaos, resulting in damage. So clear your mind and then only will you be able to focus and eventually accomplish this task as planned.
Once this is done, attach the electric box in which you've safely fed the wires. Attach it to the brace with screws or a bolt tightly to ensure full support.
